Being in the same tribe makes a lot of things easier, even if you aren't taking turns placing foundations together.
In my game, we're collaborating on one big base, but we're each building different outposts in different areas for different reasons. This bonfire limit is effectively a punishment for working together. It would be really, really nice to be able to turn it off or set the limit to a multiple of the number of players in the tribe (ie: the number of bonfires that would be available to the players if they weren't in a tribe).
It doesn't play well if you're limited to one bonfire (a likely problem if you are in a group), and there's collaboration features that I think only work in tribes.
There's also a bunch of things that don't work very well if you *are* in a tribe. The workers spam chat so much you can't really follow your own, it's easy to accidentally assign workers to a friend's buildings, etc.
They either need:
1) Another grouping mechanic that's halfway between solo and tribe, where you can allow other players to access your chests and stuff, and can group up for boss fights, but you don't share bonfire cap, worker chat, etc.
or
2) Just increase bonfire cap and let you restrict certain items to yourself only.
I 1000% agree

I'm not trying to be toxic here but just providing my input as I see it. It's like my 90 year old grandmother telling me she is going to move out when I tell her how something is going to happen in my house. I care-take for her final years can be as peaceful as possible, she isn't going anywhere else. It's a childish notion to make empty threats. Shes isn't forced to live with me taking care of her. Nor are you forced to play Soul Mask.
I strongly advise you find a solution to your problems in life vs running away when you dislike something. As an adult in life not many issues you can just run away from because you dislike it. Try to understand why there would be this limit in the first place before asking for it to be changed.
Instead of attacking someone for the way they want to play a game you should offer them a better explanation to the problem.
First I'd like to say, the reason games like Soulmask limit the number of bases they want you to be able to build comes from processing the vast amounts of data needed for a large number of player built structures. With 6 bonfires down and 4 of them for large bases we have encountered some errors on my server. They aren't huge mind you, more annoying really, but it already shows us the limits of the software is being strained.
Next a suggestion to increase your number of bases. In the server config file you can set decay to 0. Choose to have 6 main bases where you focus on Farmland and other things that truly require bonfires, then use the bookmark system to create other bases as satellite hubs to those larger bases. With decay off the new bases wont degrade. There will be some things you wont be able to build without the bonfires, but if you can limit those things to your main bases, you can have more smaller bases for collecting and mining resources.
Good luck and I hope this helps with your gaming experience.
