"Tilde on german keyboards"

Let us change the console-hotkey please! Tilde (~) doesn't work on german setup keyboards. Normally you press a combination of "alt gr +" but here it doesn't work. I have to set my keyboard language to english in order to use the console. Maybe a problem with other languages too...

Why not use a keyboard or mouse bind/macro? Saves having to press all that for one symbol.

And you will likely experience it in more games to come.

why not think before open your cakehole ? if i use a macro i use 1 button instead of 2 .. its the same but shorter.... same result maybe try to read every word "so u understand what he is talking about"

Also I don't know why I earned your hostility, I simply offered a possible solution/workaround. Maybe that's just how German people are.

Alright...alright..look I just thought that maybe setting a keybind to the actual symbol not the combo, might work. With an attitude like that though don't expect much help.

for all intents and purposes ... this very problem the original guy was adressing its fairly common in games like this

quite funny though that after all these years the first "workaround" its the one that never worked before in any other game

thats excactly what he is trying to avoid cause internal eng layout and the physical Keyboard layout dont match

Unreal Engine generally supports rebinding the console key by editing the input.ini file. Some developers disable reading the file, disable the console entirely, or lock the kebind somehow. Fortunately, as of writing this, you can change the input.ini file.

1. Open the directory: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\WS\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor
(You can type %localappdata% in the address bar to get a shortcut to the Local folder)
2. Open input.ini in Notepad or another text editor.
3. Add the below lines and customize the key as desired. Save and exit, then start your game.
