Nothing at all insane about a 50 player max. Conan Exiles caps official servers at 40 concurrent players. It's perfectly alright. There's a reason why servers are capped, by the way... it's not done for no reason.
This is 100% on you and you should not leave a negative review simply because you failed to understand something basic about how the game servers function.
You only played for about an hour so you haven't done anything yet, really... you can just re-start on a lower pop server or play solo, bud. Non-issue. Settle down.
1. 114 minutes is over an hour, pal. In fact, it's almost 2 hours. Maybe you need to hit up school again to learn how to tell time.
2. Your experience doesn't match mine. I roll with a crew. We have a tribe on that server. What’s the point of a game if you can't actually get on the server you picked to play with your friends?
3. If we are locked to the server then I should always be allowed to join that server or my spot should be held so that I can always access it.
4. Suggesting I should ditch my friends for a low-pop server is ridiculous. My server had a low population yesterday before I went to work. Abandoning my tribe and the foundation we've built? Only a moron would suggest such a thing.
5. I’m not comparing SoulMask to other games like Conan. I don’t care about other games. I’m talking about SoulMask and its flaws.
6. Fallout 76 lets you build bases and load into other servers. Why can't SoulMask do the same?
7. This isn’t 100% on me. The game doesn’t warn you about this when you buy or start playing. I found out after spending nearly 2 hours setting up my character and base and coming back a day later
8. It’s unacceptable. The game essentially forces you to hold your server spot by keeping the game running, or else you lose your slot and can’t log back in, Lock your character and builds to a server, but don't hold your slot.
I refunded and left a negative review. This isn't on me. It’s on the developers who decided this is how the game should work without considering the consequences.
So yeah, next time, maybe think before dropping a ridiculous comment.
This is not an MMO. 50 folks per server is quite high for a game such as this.
Also just because you did not know this before starting a game, means it was indeed on you. There is an insanely active discord server you could have joined to get more info before buying etc.
The devs made choices for the game they wanted to make. As far as 8 goes, every online game runs like this.
No, I never suggested there should be more players. I only want to be able to log back into the server I started playing on, not be forced to start over every day due to high population servers. When I started playing, there were only 8 people on the server, but two days later it was filled to 50. This can happen to any server, even if it starts with a low population. So your suggestion is completely illogical and does not address the issue at hand.
I suggest a system that allows users to retain a spot on a server as long as they log in every day or every two days. People have real lives; you can't expect this game to become a second job. Games are meant to be enjoyable, not chores. A user like myself shouldn't feel stressed and upset after paying $30, only to be told by other users to stop playing with my friends on a server we picked, and instead find a new low-population server to play by myself. This defeats the whole purpose of building a tribe, playing with friends, and engaging in the PVP aspect of the game.
Just because the game is PVP doesn't mean that servers should be inaccessible to the people who were building on them.
If a player has a certain amount of foundation put down, their spot should become claimed, such as if they have 4 walls, a foundation, a campfire, and a bed.
The game literally features a "Continue" button when you load it up. What is the point if every time you go to continue it tells you the server is full?
I think you mistake the concept of a PVP game, where players build bases and fight each other, with fighting over server access.
Just because it hasn't been done before doesn't mean it can't be implemented now.
Instancing an official server would be an answer, but the issue comes with build(s), where does it fit on another server if someone else is already there? There is an opertunity for some very clever stuff here with, no doubt, very expensive development costs, so maybe once they have raked in the dough they can revolutionise the genre :)

The reference to "Fallout 76" in Statement 6 serves as a concrete example to illustrate a specific flaw and suggest a potential improvement for "SoulMask,"
So while it seems like I am comparing, I am only pointing out a flaw in Soulmask and providing that there are solutions.
EARLY ACCESS!!! It’s not fully developed kids! Just enjoy it and let it run! Always gonna have issues! Especially when stalking Jaguars to there cubs and other Jaguars or creatures catch you doing it. Can’t saddle them if you bloody well can’t stalk mom to her cub without “Heaven Forbid” a PUMBA coming out of nowhere to mess it all up…..AGAIN (x8)!! It’s all fun and games till Pumba shows up to the watering hole!!!
