The vast majority of games reward you with loot for killing people. So if you are okay with games training players to see NPCs as loot pinatas, then it is hypocritical to be bothered by capturing and 'recruiting' them.

As you mentioned, I'm not a stranger to games that have questionable moral content... The thing is, most other games have many other defining factors, and are blatantly obvious about things. For example, in Rimworld, you can have slaves. In Soulmask you have tribemates?

These days there's just so many people shoving agendas down people's throats through media and games, that when you see a game that predominately has something that seems like slavery as its main mechanic (as I mentioned, I didn't realize they could/would just leave... but let's be honest, if someone stabbed you then dragged you home and nursed you back to health, I doubt you'd stick around), you really gotta ask yourself, wtf is going on here?

I don't like to see indoctrination, and this is what this game looks like to me... where it subtly guides people to draw subconscious lines in their thinking habits.

If someone stabbed me and dragged me home, that would be a crime. however, we are talking about a game.

In my teenage years I played a lot of sonic the hedgehog, I am able to resist the urge to run as fast as I can while collecting rings and attack moustached scientists.
I played a lot of mario, and yet I manage to resist the urge to jump on mushrooms and crawl down pipes.
Years of pacman completely failed to make me want to eat marbles and chase ghosts when I get a yellow one.

No one, absolutely no one, is saying "see this game has slavery, so lets do that in real life" about any game.

We all know the difference between games and reality, those that do not are in need of help. I want to believe you are just trolling, the alternative is that you some how think people are being made ok with horrendous things via video games. In a game I am a violent and evil git, in real life I am the complete opposite.

I mean, have you given into the urge to knock large animals unconscious and force feed them meat or fruit until they love you or do you now have a lifetime ban from the local zoo?

There have been educational games, yes. But 99% of games are about entertainment not education or indoctrination. Chap, are you trolling or do you truly believe what your typing?

yeah, Im not sure this game functions fully like CE, yes it uses a beat guy to near death to capture, but no rope, you have to carry them. then theres the fact you can swap with them, and even then they may not even be loyal to you, they could just up and leave. I donno, games systems are very different, its got inspiration from several Survival games.

As someone else already said you recruit them, then you look after them.
If they lose hope in you, they leave.

But even if it was as you said, thats a mechanic in many many games. However, here is the thing.... they are games. Not real! you turn off the server/pc and they cease to exist.

If you can not distinguish the difference between a game and the real world then please delete steam off your pc.

So you enjoy Rimworld where you can torture prisoners, harvest their organs, cut off their legs so they cannot escape, sacrifice them to your deity to improve your colonies mood, have children then give those kids a gun and make them defend your drug operation from raiders and if that kid dies you can make a meal from him and make a hat from his skin, pregnant women can get hurt in combat and miscarry then the colony sits around smoking weed and makes meals from the dead baby and finally raiders can kidnap your kids and sell them into slavery but this game goes too far in your opinion?

You enjoy a game that allows you to do anything you want no matter how evil or morally wrong it is but this game goes to far by allowing you to capture other tribe members?
