So I want to move my base to a new location....
So I want to move my base to a new location, how can I do that without losing everything?
I have a lot of stuff already, and I have mounts and npc but if I build a structure in another place and I don't place a bonfire( I assume we can only have 1 per person) that structure will decay ( they say quite fast) and I have to do long and multiple trips.

I found a baby llama while heading towards that first scout - it was a bit northeast of their location if I remember correctly.

Not to far midwest of the starter region is a barbarian barracks that has an alpaca inside it. But beware unless your character is beefed up you will want to bring an army. There are alot of mobs and they will gang up on you.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but setting up a new base is easy - getting your peeps over to it though is a hassle. Don't you have to have them follow you over one-at-a-time...

I got around this by setting a series of markers on the map between the old and new base and assigning the tribespeeps' work orders to harvest around the nearest one. When they got close I changed to the next one, until they got into range of the new bonfire. In retrospect I *might* have been able to use get-from-old and stash-to-new chest orders but I'm not sure. I haven't tried that mechanic yet.

I did a move and took some of my tribesman with me. It took a while, but I was able to get them and some gear to the new location 1 tribe member at a time. Build some basics in new location to make easier:
1. I removed all work tasks they had.
2. Then loaded up their and my inv. with as much as we could comfortably carry
3. Set them on deploy and follow.
4. I walked to the new base location with them in tow.
5. Once there I emptied the inv into new boxes.
6. Reset the work tasks for the new location. (Highly suggest renaming bonfires to make this easier)

It seemed to work, but depending on distance can take a while. I think this would be allot quicker with pack animal, but I just found my 1st one and it is not grown yet.

Wait, you deployed them ALL and had ALL of them follow you at one time?

I stated I did it 1 member at a time. I didn't add, undo deploy, rinse, repeat as I thought it was implied.

Nope, my tribe member told me it was too far and would not go. I only got it to work as I stated above.
I also use a similar method to capture 2 new tribesman at a time. I bring one back and set to follow at the knock out location then carry the 2nd one home to heal there.

I'm guessing the portals, which I keep reading about, but haven't seen, will make base migration easier...???

UPDATE: Nevermind, found a portal - wasn't what I thought it'd be...
