jaguar tame broken or what?
Sooo, i find the paws, i follow them, spot the female jag, follow her hunting, then returning home AND then instead of her laying the cub, she goes into resting "walks around FOREVER in that mode" after an HOUR of waiting and watching her, i got fed up and killed her, so i looked for other trail of paws, follow that rins and repeat, to finally killing her again after WAITING FOR 25MIN for her to come out of rest mode.

This has to be bugged right. she should have had a cub. see i like the system "if it works" but the problem with this type of tame is, its prone to bug out.
i also found one female jag on the edge of a cliff, in returing home mode, also seemingly stuck for 20mins after i got fed up and killed her confused state.

If you saw them "Resting" then they already had the baby and you lost track of it. The phases are hunting for food, returning home, and when they get there they drop the food, pop out the baby, and go into resting until they die or server reset as far as i know. baby is small and super alert and will run like the wind if it sees you or hears you.

thats why i saying they bugged on me, i know when they "rest" the cub should be there, i was like 10 meters from here behind a big rock, the scan did not show a cub at all, so i thought i'll wait it out.

but now it seems to be ok, ...

I ended up here looking for the answer where to find a jaguar and its tracks. The post that says left of the sabertooth fight was correct, but its not in the jungle immediately left, you have to cross a stone formation (like a bridge) with what looks like a river under it and keep going left. That is where mine appeared. I followed her until the baby appeared but I forgot the traps, so went back home for them and when I returned she was stuck for some time in resting and the baby nowehre in sight. I killed her, and started following the tracks again and another one spawned and started the animations correctly. voila i have a baby jaguar now

yea its for sure a procces to get one, personally i don't find them worth the time. they do absolute nothing for yah other then being a mount, can't carry as much as an lama or what the other one is called again. at first i thought it be a great fighter to help me, but noo its completely worthless.

It's fast, that's about it. I use it quite a bit because it's fast enough that most things wont even aggro when you go past and I usually return to base after clearing each spot and I don't generally find enough stuff to overload the jag.
Mining might be a different thing though but for that the alpaca seems to carry as much as you can mine in a single sweep.

i use the alpaca's, its fast that most things can't catch you. only a jag can eventually hit you BUT by then its so far from its "patrole area" it just knocks me off the mount and then reset and runs back.
not sure what type of alpaca's you find, but i can load them up with LOADS of ore.
i'd say the alpaca is the best "usefull" mount in the game you can get early. not sure if you can get other mounts in end game so that why i said early game.

The rarer the more they carry and remember the harder they fall.

Once you know where to go and how to proceed it’s a matter of a few minutes to get one. There are videos out there showing in which location they are. I‘ve done about 20-25 attempts trying to get a red one (which would be a black panther) and that took me maybe 2-3 hours, so a single one shouldn’t take any longer than 10 minutes.
For me the jaguar is the most useful mount as it is way faster than the others and can jump up many cliffs.
To each their own i guess, but calling them „completely worthless“ is very off.

not saying its hard, also did not wanted to say it took long, i'm just telling is a waste of time how ever the time frame of getting one.
the jag is so useless, i would not even use one even if i get one by one click.
you stack ore, its can't move no more, you step off to fight it just stands there all the while it has FANGS sharper then my sword probably not to mention the claws it has.
it does jack poop, so i'm not going to waste time "how little it may be" to get one.

Well that is absolutely fine, I am just saying you're missing out a lot! :D
The Jaguar is so much faster than an alpaca or a llama and not every run is about ore.
When I go mining I also sometimes go for more carryweight, but having a fast mount also has it's perks. That's all I'm saying.

These do seem hard to tame. I crouch when I am hunting one, that seems to make it less likely for them to see you. I usually stay over 40 meters from any cub, as they are even more alert than the adult.

I've seen the cub go into my trap and not trip it, which is really annoy, since you can't catch them unless the trap trips.

There is no doubt this type of tame is a bit buggy, but I've gotten three so far. Too bad there is no breeding, as if I could just tame a female (I have 3 males), I'd never trap another, it is such a time sink.
