♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ casuals need to go back to playing console games
Nope its cancer in every generation it only amuses those who are immature if you need voip there is thing called DISCORD sigh.
I hate when casuals show up and try pretend they are hardcore. No one is buying it.
Thank the Gaming Gods for that!! Not only do I hate talking to Randoms of limited intelligence and vocabulary but I VASTLY prefer talking to my RL friends and family using VOIP as we are playing our various games or working from home. I never enable my microphone in games and I always mute players too - they have nothing to say that I want to listen to. I won't even use Discord because that's just having to talk to Randoms as well. Screw in-game Voice Chat.
NOTE: I realise of course there will be some nice people out there, but painstakingly sorting the wheat from the chaff is too much effort for too little return.
And if someone bullied me, I'd get genuinely upset. (When it comes to VC, I am emotionally squishy. Text is different, for some reason? It's the internet. OFC yer gonna get bullied. ☠️) But having someone shout mean things at me, or follow me around and try to kill me all the time when I'm just trying to craft a cozy little base next to a lake sounds incredibly upsetting. But maybe I'm just too squishy for those sorts of games, I suppose? Thank the Lord this has single player. 😭❤️🙏
So would disabling the voice chat, and there's a helluva lot of players make totally disabling it the first thing they did. Like me. Like people say, join Discord to opt in to voice chat. Don't make in-game voice chat compulsory for the people who despise it.
I recently tried an interesting online crafting/survival VR game and in-game voice chat from other players in the vicinity can't be turned off. I can turn my mic off but can't mute them. I binned the game because of it.
Or have something like a "Clan Voice chat".
Now a days, most Voice chat is just for people who want to annoy others, and ruin the experience for them.
Much like others have said, just use Discord, it's pretty much the only Voice Chat anyone uses now anyways, and for good reason too.
For me, first thing I go to is the options. Turn down the "OMG! WTH DO THEY ALWAYS PUT ALL SOUND TO 100??!!!". Then, if it is built into the game, disable Voice Chat.
