Or maybe they will see this and re-think. If there is enough momentum for this they may adopt it. They have been pretty good so far.
simply put the char u made is useless fodder?:P how is that not a dissapointment
Well its back to Enshrouded for me :)
you know what the level cap on conan is? 60. at level 60 you stop getting knowledge points.
people made a mod to break this limit. i dont know why people are acting like other games in this genre dont do this. its not new.
That way you can create your little animé wifu on them instead.
Maybe launch a adult website instead of the game, if playing as other characters ruin your life so much. This feature gives so much depth to the game, and it separates it from all other games like it in the genre.
In what world does it make sense, that you who holds all the knowledge, would go out and expose yourself to constant danger. That's for the grunts to do. Get a poster, a girlfriend or some movies. And wait for mods to come out or smth.
The reason you get different tribesman is to find different talents and proficiency caps to fight different parts of the game. You look for a 120 proficiency Hammer tribesman to fight some dungeons, 120 Bow for aerial encounters, 120 dual blade/Gauntlets for high dps and spear/sword + shield for tanking etc. If lucky you can find one with 2 or 3 proficiencies that are 120.
If the MC had all of this power there would be no point in recruiting tribesman aside from crafters but I'm sure you want your MC to be the best at that too.
Get out of the mentality of what other games do. This developer had an idea and its a great one.
The only thing I do agree with is they can make the created character do camp upkeep so its not a wasted slot, other than that you should have to look for tribesman and play as them.
Well if the MC was exactly the same as any other tribesman, than it would be pretty obvious you are not meant to play it to end game. It is instead quite different, and crippled. The crippled part you don't really find out about until you have invested many hours in the game. Which many think those hours are in their character, but I think maybe the mask really?
I honestly don't get this game design. It makes no sense to me, never seen anything remotely like it (maybe some other games do it, but never played any like that). When you go into a game that looks a lot like Conan Exiles, but with automation, you think that is what you are getting. It is a pretty rude surprise (not in a good way at all), when you find it is something completely different.
So we don't have to like the devs design. We can hate it if we want. We can't refund either at this point, hence some of the hate in these forums for the game.
The fact that you said you've never seen this in any other game is what they were going for. They want to bring something fresh and new.
Early game isn't a good way to feel out how the tribesman work towards later game but there is so much more by playing multiple tribesman and so many hours you can invest in trying to find one that you feel is best.
I'm in no way trying to tell people what to like or dislike or even how to play but it's pretty harsh to criticize a developer for trying something different that may not be what you like.
The developers themselves said they will make it so the game can be modded, in the mean time you can play as they envisioned or not and wait for mods.
I personally haven't done any harsh criticism that I can think of, but this is the steam forums on the internet, so not surprising some would go there. I've chosen to stop playing, only playing just a little to try out things I read here, but not doing much in game right now. I can certainly empathize with those that don't like the game though. Normally a game that has single player doesn't require you tweak the setting so much to actually be able to progress in single player. It is early access of course. I expect that will change eventually.
Yeah.... No...
Just because the game is not what YOU wanted does not mean the rest of us do not enjoy it.
That’s where choice comes in… if they add in the ability to replace your starting character with another tribesman you don’t have to do it if you like him being a gimp.
So heres the issue and reason that you don't understand.
1. There is no main character.
2. You are the researcher, so being distracted with mundane work is dumber than dumb.
3. You hold the key to ancient knowledge, why risk the beautiful brain you've got.
