Question about Co-Op
Can't get an answer on this anywhere. Is this game playable like Valheim/Enshrouded etc, without renting a private server? I just want to hop in co-op with my friend and that's about it. I don't want to rent a server, all I need is a simple join feature juts like in those games.

I believe you can, I am playing a "Friends" game waiting for my girl to get off work so we can play together, and I didn't have to rent a server. Should be exactly what you're after.

yes you can do coop. What you would do is select solo/friends off the main page then create the server to your liking (difficulty, name, password, server parameters etc.) then once in the server you would invite your friend(s) (up to 10 players) through steam invite off the friend page. You would then need to make a tribe under the tribe page (click i) and then your friend would see it pop up under world tribes and he can join.

Keep in mind that with this method the creator of the game needs to be playing for everyone else to play.
Are the characters you make saved host side or on each client's computer for peer to peer play? If it's like Valheim in that regard (where your progress can be brought to a friend's game) I'm suddenly a lot more interested.
Yeah can self host, and even just have them do hop in out co-op. But you don't share the save so one person will be always the host and if they can't play you can't play... Or you could leave your PC on all day if you got a good one or a spare one and host a dedicated that is password locked with like 4 person limit...

99% of the genre its all part the hosts save I don't think this is any diffrent, co-op is kind of last place after thought not even top 5 priorities of development of most games like this.

Does the friends/coop game mode have a host tether? And if so, how bad is it?
I wish it would be like ark where you can use a official server with password so your friend can keep going without you

The smallest companies don't have that kinda money to throw around anymore. It's getting too expensive even for the bigger players.
is crossplay working? like if me (steam) and he (xbox) want to play together?
