It's not an MMO, it's Multiplayer Online Gameplay though.
Not Co-op like Enshrouded or Icarus nor Pseudo MMO like Myth of Empires or ARK.
Closest comparison? i'd say Conan Exiles or Dark and Light.
Could change over time of course.
By Pseudo MMO I mean relatively small servers with the means to transfer between them
Steam should removing misleading tags in game descriptions like this.
I agree it's misleading and I think Steam should make it clearer to the general public these are community generated tags the publisher has no control over. It is documented in places, but should be made clear at the store page level.
In the case of Soulmask, MMO is listed further down the store page. I honestly do not know whether they control that or not. Heck, don't even know what the widget is called.
Like all other PvE/PvP Multiplayer Survival games (Rust, Ark, Conan, etc.) it is not an MMO.
And also like all other Multiplayer Survival games, I enjoy playing it in PvE modes only, effectively making it a Co-op game.
much more
Not to say SoulMask could not have something like that, but there's not really been any sign of them doing anything like that, has there?
Anyhoo, tags on Steam are either purely marketing spin or community generated or both.
I.e. not something to draw conclusions from. Always dig deeper than the grossly generic marketing buzzword :-)
