Soup. Place in their inventory and press E to use it

Broth - Meat, water (waterskin) and a bowl.

Also, for good measure, after I give them a bite of broth, I put a bandage on them and use it to quickly boost their health.

If you get attacked (like by rabid dogs) on the way back to your place while carrying the NPC and have to put him or her down, the extra health will help because the dogs will attack the NPC.

Could NOT figure this out last night. That definitely needs to be explained better in the quest. After a few hours of farting around and crafting other stuff I found the recipes for broth and soup, but had no idea you needed to USE the item in their inventory.

Wasn't just me, either. I had a viewer last night who has played for 8+ hours and never successfully tamed anyone.

The quest really should lead you into crafting and placing an oven before it expects you to magically know how to make "liquid food". When I read that my mind went straight to the brain tubes from iZombie.

Okay, but how do you craft it? I am not finding the recipe anywhere.

If you'll get seen by dogs while carrying a barbarian, don't stop and dogs will lose interest in you soon. Because every animal or enemy has limited range in which they attack, but beyond that, stops the chase and returns to their previous position.
