That's the thing though, my guy doesn't even attempt to climb it. The narrator just says I don't have the skill.
It says "You can't climb up these vines yet. You don't have the skill." I've tried spamming use on it, and it does nothing but repeat that the entire time. The stat doesn't increase.
It's not for me. I clicked like a mad man, and it hasn't gone up once.
EDIT: To clarify this even more, I've tried going to the other places where I know you can climb (a tree in the woods near the dead skeleton, and the front gate of Volksville at night), and spamming those places to increase skill also does nothing. It's like when I hit 31, it just won't increase, no matter what I do. Is there some other spot I can increase the stat that I'm not aware of?
Talk to the pharmisict in town to find out where the fungus is
hint 2:
He'll tell you the fungus grows in the North Woods on old/dead trees and is only visible at Night
hint 3:
The North Woods is to the west of the mansion ruins
Solution:
Wait until dark. Go to the north woods, west of the mansion's ruins, and head south-west to the large dead tree in the middle of the road. On the left side of the screen, the glowing green spot on the big tree is the fungus.
Yes I did, but I also tried using that there, and it also doesn't allow me to use it. I only found one spot in the game where it worked. It was at the waterfall screen east of the swamp entrance.
Well.. there is another spot you can use the grappling hook that I found. It's
The slaver's balcony, but you don't need to go there or do that until act 2, and it's kind of weird if you use it before you need to go there (You get climbing experience, but don't actually go in.)
I noticed someone mentioning that, but I don't know what part that is.
It's directly above the Dye seller's stand in Tyr, south of the Mayor's house. You can only attempt to climb it via grappling at night, but you won't go inside until act 2. (You do get some climbing practice though.)
Well, that was weird. Apparently using the grappling hook there increases my climbing (and thievery), but the game doesn't give me the indication that the stats increased (I'm guessing because two increased at the same time).
