Steam cards

Anyone getting trading cards when playing this game ?

The cards are associated with 4th jobs, you have to get to level 170 with each of the classes before you're granted that said card.

I have understood, reading Steam messages in the profile page, that you can get trading cards from free-to-play game only if you buy something in-game.

Some games you do have to buy things from the game's in-game shop...some you just unlock the cards through finding items, level up classes, crafting, marketing, etc.

When I go to look at La Tale's Badge progress it says that I have to spend at least $9 to unlock the next card drop.

I have no idea where you read that you needed to unlock each 4th job to get its card, that would require more character slots then you can possibly have on one account. Even if you could, getting to 170 10 times is no easy task.

All you have to do is spend money on the game to unlock drops.

Bingo. Every $9 spent nets you a card. I wanted to make them drop for time played, but Valve doesn't allow that for free-to-play games - I guess they're worried about alts.

By the way, I had a lot of fun making the cards. Enjoy 'em!

yeah, having a free to play game give out cards for free would be pretty bad for the steam market.

What do you get for crafting Badges? Are there also Backgrounds, emoticons, etc.?

Considering the prices of some cards you may be lucky to get more than what you spent on the game. Star Seeker would give you profit, the other just give you back some of the money spent. And one of the background is at 40$. I don't know if it give any foil cards since theres none listed. From the market price the badge cost about $69.58 for each level, and you have 5 levels on the badge. If you are lucky enough to get the Star Seeker for spending $9 the badge will cost you even less since the card is listed at $29.00 USD while all other cards are under 9.

yeah but considering that you get also almost 200 Astros, I don't think I will waste 8$ for just the card

You can buy anything for the market...the cards will lose there flair soon enough an be down to $0.25 or lower just wait for them, no hurry you don't need the cards to play the game.
