I did some quick googling (about the game) and discovered that CONSORTIUM seems very much like a spiritual successor to Amen the Awakening. However, I'm relatively certain they don't share the same timeline or any story elements.
Not sure what the planned features were for AtA, but CONSORTIUM has basic source-engine combat combined with a novel inventory system and a brand-new take on the classic dialogue tree. Also, characters react to almost everything you do, which is stunningly complex. I can't wait to see how they expand this experience in The Tower Prophecy.
Finally, WOAH! The song "Act 3: Mysterious Attacker" is directly copied into CONSORTIUM, but I can't remember which song (there are over fifty in the soundtrack.)
It has exactly the tunes that I associate with both B6 and The Consortium, but I can't figure out which track.
As for "AmenCLC," I can't listen to that song on modern software.
So, yeah, bit of a spiritual successor.
, thanks for the info. If you have anymore info please feel free to share.
I couldn't find it initially because I thought it was in the track "A good old fashioned dogfight", but I had ZenlilUnderSiege and GoodOldFashionedDogfight mixed up because I always thought that ZenlilUnderSiege sounded like better dogfighting music.
EDIT: Compared the two in audio-editing software. Updated the +/- timing.
Parallel universes make my head hurt, even when the King helps me sort it out. Devs, how much music was made by our side's Jeremy Soule and how much by the other side's?
(Even better, those of the other sides -- plural. We are splitting off lots of timelines with the ARG and B6. Maybe those other Soules composed even more differing versions of this one track?)
As for the music: I can tell you that Greg and Jeremy worked closely together back in the Amen days and many of the themes and such are still very valid today, for Consortium. They got back together to work on the music for Consortium, creating new tracks and re-doing old ones at the same time.
You're looking too much into the in-game elements of who created what :) It's really just a simple matter of the same folks created the universe and the music for both games - so naturally there is some overlap. If you want to look at the "in-game" version of Jeremy Soule, who is a part of the lore, he never wrote anything to do with Consortium or Amen as these titles do not exist in their world. This is why when P44 (potentially) says he's hearing the Consortium theme song in his head, and also knows Soule's body of work (being a big gamer)... the music he is hearing is unfamiliar to him.
Thanks!
