If there are reasons you can think of why the web version would be useful to someone who already has the Steam version, I'm happy to see what's possible.
I regret purchasing the steam version now as I see you get all versions if you purchase off the website :(
Having access to the browser version would be awesome for me though! I'd love to be able to play while I'm at work on break. I don't really feel comfortable installing steam on to a work computer, lol. It'd also be nice so I could more easily show my friends how cool the game is so when multiplayer gets dropped on steam I will have people to play with!
For me personally, it's not to have access to all the versions but rather to be able to play from another location, which has no Steam installed. I just saw it as a bonus.
Anyways, I'm happy with the purchase. ;)
Regards.
It requires a pretty hefty plugin that would also draw the ire of your IT department - it's basically a sandboxed .NET system.
I figured it was built in Unity. I've seen other games (Path of Exile) be able to link data and inventory items. Perhaps overloading that to give access to the web player with a linked account?
