Gnome King Ignores Me?

Hi - I got my fighter to level 11, decided it was time to kill the gnome king, marched in to his hall ready to take him and his guards down, and the bugger ignores me. How do I start combat with him?

Toss a gas/fire/frost stone, something like that, or zap a wand. Maybe even an arrow would work? Firestones are my preferred, they come out with a huge chunk of damage already on 'em, but tossing them to the right spot is difficult.

I find tossing difficult as well. In that particular room I usually step forward to face him, standing about where the right hand guard is, and *drop* a firestone or two, then run back out the door far enough for me to be out of the blast radius, turning back to face them in time to make sure *they* stay in it. When you drop gems they'll go about "4 feet" in front of you. Works nicely.

Thanks. I just zapped him with a wand and then melee finished them off.

He ignores you because you can have a conversation with him instead of attacking.

No - I tried to interact with him and got the message that he ignores me. So I went back and killed him

Ah, ok. I don't think I've ever gotten that. If I remember correctly, he asks you to pay a fine for killing gnomes or you can opt to go to prison. Going to prison teleports you to the wine celler, which has a key to get out. I never paid the fine, so dunno what happens then.

He only seems to ignore me when I have an Invis item on. When I take the Invis off he notices me
