Should I grease everything? Wikia says that is makes items vulnerable to fire? Do they mean more vulnerable than normal?

Yeah, the lard makes them burn up really fast/easily. I usually don't put it on my stuff.

It's really helpful later in the game, as mindflayers can't take off your helmet and suck your brains out!

Its good on metal objects since those arent vulnerable to fire iirc
