Fountain Wishing?

anyone know what distance down stuff spawns becuase i so far have wished for 2 massive axes and mjolnir yet havent came across them
i really want to find my mjolnir considering it cost me 8,000 gold

Fountains are for blanking scrolls.

nearly always the item is within the first 5 levels downward, but not always. I have had items appear lower, perhaps to 10 levels. Also, the item could be in the mines.

thx and wasting a fountain on blanking a scroll just isnt necessary

Blank Scrolls are incredibly powerful, that's what I normally use 'em for too.

Those are also more valuable/rare than fountains.

I have never had a feathered hat fountain wish come true. Boots of speed are about 75% successful. Gauntlets of power are about 50% successful. Both are usually within 2 levels of the fountain used. Also - I'm not sure what internal logic is used, but I find that when I "back track" up to a fountain to make my wishes, those wishes almost never come true.

*Edit* I usually leave fountains intact so I can back track to make blank scrolls, which are incredibly powerful and borderline necessary to win. If you know of another way to mass produce scrolls of charging/enchant armor/enchant weapon, please let us all know.

wand of cancellation blanks scrolls when cast on them
you can also recharge those wands by drpoing them and castiing lightning or using a wand of lightning
easily 10+ blanked scrolls per wand

That is good to know. I'll be honest, I typically reserve my wands of cancellation specifically to insta-kill Energy Vortex when I'm in a bind. They are one of the bigger nuissances for me as a mage when I play.
