Not everybody sits around just playing videogames, I don't want to spend hours on a 2d game I payed for just to get basic items that shouldn't cost what they cost. Unless the game's been updated for basic items like a fishing rod to cost less it's a bit absurd.
around the time the game officially was for sale capped two ships and an island, backed to port with enough gold to get cleaning, fishing, cooking and a fishing rod.
That was my point, some people have fun just burning through the needless grind to get to the meat of the game.
