How do i fire cannons?

I have them placed on upper deck with a deck cannon background and a crew member with cannon masterey but it simply won't work.

You cannot shoot cuttlery/silverware in this game so try to place some cannonballs

You need crew with the cannon mastery skill , some cannons and ammo placed . The crew members with the skill will reload and fire the cannons automaticly on hostile ships , for neutral ones , you have to drag and drop the force attack command from the options you have , onto the ship.

Thats not working for me, i have a canon and lots of ammo. My captain has the canon mastery skill and hes not doing ♥♥♥♥. he loaded it and now thats it. The enemy ships dont seem to have this problem and are smashing me.

Hmm i have this happen some times aswell , i do not know whether its a bug with crews priorities or if it is something to do with the skill level being faster firing for higher level of cannon mastery skill. Another problem i have is crew running around with ammo once the cannons are loaded then .

you say sometimes. What was your work around or fix?

Just waited , got pounded , then reloaded game , if it was still probleming i would just board the ship , your ship not to complicated design is it? and your crew aren't struggling to get about. You do have windows for your cannons?

the problem worked itself out with a reload. just a sporadic glitch i guess
