Okuni Kabuki Dance Mission Bug/Glitch/Game breaking?

So my stupid ass went to the island and did not activate any spirit mirror, I died and respawned on the main island, and now I am unable to ride the boat back to the island, it doesnt spawn back to the sandbox where the mission started.

I am 24hrs in, my last manual save was 2 days ago. Am I screwed or someone else has a workaround other than me losing 15hrs of progress for a reload

I don't understand why people don't manual save and back it up, every day or every other day. How many times I keep reading on these threads about people not having manual saves or their manual saves are from x hours or days old.

I just got here on my carnage playthrough and couldn't replicate the bug. When I die without touching a mirror first, it just sends me back to the start of the area, not back to the mainland.

Are you guys using mods? I'm using one that enables teleporting from anywhere, and if you use that to teleport off the island, then yeah I imagine you'd get softlocked.

Maybe try dying again and see if it teleports you back to where you're supposed to be?
