1. Alienware is our partner and has helped us in many ways. This is why we have their logo in the game.
2.We would love to add trading cards to the game in the future. It's on our feature list but at this moment we're focusing on more critical tasks. As you can imagine our workforce is limited but creative!:)
3. Our plan is to keep on updating the game. There will be 2 main types of updates - bugfixing and new content. New content will include new maps and if the game does well possibly also new features or modes.
4. I was working at CD Projekt Red for quite few years. I started durign "The Witcher" project and then moved to The Witcher 2 and The Witcher 3. It was fascinating, fast, intense and after some time a bit to repetitive for a developer. I like changing my environment and I like trying out new things. New experiences give you opportunities to learn new stuff so here I am talking about a strategy game, managing game builds, prioritizing features etc. How cool is that?:)
5. Ahhh our AI. This is a complex subject. We’re working on it. It was already tweaked few times and we found it challenging but it just can’t handle all your strategies. We’ll keep on iterating. We know this is important for many of you.
Thanks,
Marek
But to be more clear, do you think to do other Tournaments like the one just finished? If yes when?
I would like also to know at this point what exactly a developer does during the work to a AAA game and which tasks he has. Don't know if you can tell me something about this. However, I imagine that to do a job like this at least you should have a degree in computer Science or some specialization like this... There are also engineers?
We're not sure if we'll be running a tournament like the one in closed beta very soon. It will probably depend on the size of our community. We've also learned a lot during the previous tournament so I guess if the new one happens the rules will be greatly modified.
as to developing AAA games well this is a very difficult question. There are many different specialist working on a different title like animators, 3d artists, 2d artists, designers, story writers, programmers, producers, sfx designers, composers, testers, marketing people etc. An AAA game dev studio is often like a decent factory with 100+ talented people on board. I personalty was starting as a tester. After some time I moved on to design, level design and finally production. I also have a programming masters degree and a postgraduate management related degree. But education isn't essential. Skill are. Ohhh and as a producer I basically prepare the plan of development, it's budget and than try to oversee it and help solve problems on daily basis. But it's a kind of job that's hard to define as I'm involved in many different aspects of the game creation process.
@coco le belge We would love to add coop sometime in the future but first we must take care of the bugs we're finding from time to time and hopefully build a bit bigger community. But I'm also aware that a coop can help us achieve this.
Thanks guys!
What do you have to do to be a tester?
11 years later and no coop?
