VHS tape bug

i cant insert the tape into the player,no matter using keyboard or controller

was able to get it working by going into inventory with mouse and keyb oard and pressing right and leftclick and e over and over and over and tab

Same problem. What's gone wrong is that the LMB option in the inventory when you select the tape, which should say "insert", does not appear.

same here. We pressed all keys over and over...and finally the tape was insert wow :D

Think of it like other games with a similar inventory interface, whereas when presented with a lock and you are in possession of a key, you right click so the inventory opens displaying said key, then left click to use. In this case, while standing in front of the VCR, right click. The inventory opens to the VHS tape. Left click on the tape so it inserts into the VCR. I figured this out with trial and error, thereby turning on the TV and VCR first. I don't know if this is necessary for the "lock and inventory key" method to work, but likely so.

This worked for me. Face the TV and right-click, then the VHS tape will pop up, then left-click. it will go through the steps and play.

Throughout the game I merely had to left-click to use the item, not this time. When I left-clicked initially on the VCR, it just went into standby mode and stayed there. I assumed the tape had been automatically inserted, but it was not. No amount of clicking worked.

Too bad this mechanic is introduced at the very end of the game

no kid. You just have to right click the tape and try to insert the tape once more. then the game would continue as should be

After watching the VHS tape the game does not continue. Watched the tape 3x in a row. No way to continue playing the game. Disappointed.

You rented the extended version and directors cuts on that VHS. you also forgot to rewind it which is why it was longer.
