The game is the second one released by MAGStudios but is a precursor to Ghostship Aftermath (hence the name of the other game AFTERMATH)
I already have a video up showcasing it and it's also linked on the review and the forums.
Its all about perspective.
I'll keep an eye out when its on sale or bundled. Thanx for the info. Cheers.
Yea it's the prequel to Aftermath. I can't say it'll never be in a bundle, (although I doubt it) but it's not going to go on sale like other early access games have. It's actually going to go up in price as features are added and it gets closer to release which is expected in to be in about 8 months.
The general idea is to reward people who put faith in the game earlier and not let those people feel sold out by selling it for less with more features in Early Access.
I'm sorry to hear that. Aftermath was his first ever title launched and a lot of mistakes were made but I believe he has done a great job trying to rectify those mistakes and the lessons learned there are definitely being applied here.
With Aftermath a lot of free content has been added like the hassle free dlc, and the new Halloween content with a new weapon, new enemies, new story branch, trading cards, achievements. Even a new instant action mode to in response to complaints about permadeath and taking too long to get into the action.
To me the continuing work on the project along with adding free content that most devs would try to sell shows his dedication to the project, to making things right even if he made mistakes, and providing the best product possible even if it takes a while.
Anyway I hope you'll keep an eye on how CDF and Aftermath develop and that we'll eventually win you over :) and more importantly, that you'll really enjoy the games.
It is the same developer, Shaun Williams is with MAG Studios. Proof[www.maggamestudios.com]. An administrative error listed Ghostship Aftermath as Shaun Williams and CDF Ghostship as MAG Studios. I'll see what we can do to change one or the other so they line up.
Ghostship Aftermath was the first ever release and our problem with that is it was developed for and tested in Virtual Reality. We've actually gotten an overwhelmingly positive response at gaming expos from people playing it in VR. When it was ported to work on a standard monitor the experience didn't translate as well as we'd like.
If we had to do it over we would have waited until closer to when virtual reality is set to hit the consumer market in 2015 to release Ghostship Aftermath. However, what's done is done and although we're not heavily marketing Ghostship Aftermath and saving that for when VR comes out, we are still providing the best support we can through patches and new content for those who already purchased the game. Whatever mistakes were made with our first release we're not just going to leave our customers hanging.
CDF Ghostship is made specifically for playing with standard monitors, which is more appropriate to the current consumer market, which is why we're releasing it now. We've learned our lessons from Ghostship Aftermath which is why we're going the Early Access route to allow for more customer feedback to improve the game's development and allow us to hire more talent to work on the game and make it a more polished and higher quality experience than if we just continued developing it in the dark and released it as a full game.
I hope this provides some context to what you're seeing, and that you'll still keep an eye on the game's development and consider purchasing when you feel comfortable with the state that the game is in.

This shows off Onslaught in CDF Ghostship pretty well.

Both games are very different and have very different mechanics and features. CDF Ghostship is the prequel and the FPS, Ghostship aftermath is a survival horror with rogue-like elemenets
