As I wrote in the installer's descriptions: yes. It works with Steam/GOG/retail/cucumber version, as long as it's patched with the latest official v2.5.
I'm late to the party with this little gem. Steam and GoG patched flawlessly.
WARNING!
Due to how the old Unity handled everything, this update shouldn't be installed in the middle of a playthrough. Finish with the previous version or start a new game.
Paperback, Popup Book, Hardcover achievements have been broken for awhile, though.
Was hoping the patch would work for the others. Oh well. Still had fun playing. :)
