Our goal is to have all crowns priced the same regardless of where you play from. Sometimes there are sales on one site, and not on others--but we are going to fix this so they are always the same everywhere. Crowns from Steam are not 80% more than from the website.
I just did a price comparison, and I see that crown prices are slightly off: 500 crowns cost $30 on the website vs. $35 on Steam, so for that package, crowns are 17% more expensive. I'll get this fixed ASAP.
Thanks, Damon
The other thing is we have permanent volume discounts. The more crowns you buy, the cheaper they are. These permanent volume discounts are available on Steam and on the website, and we will not remove them. However, as I said before, the prices *are* slightly off-- about 17%. We'll get that fixed.
Damon
Steam: 25.55 (30% off!!), 25.55 / 7 * 10 = 36.5 (normal price)
Website: 19.99 (normal price, paypal)
if you mean to say 19.99 is 30% off, then im not sure if i can believe that,
as it would then be 28.5 which is normal price, and it would mean you had
different percentages off on website and steam.
36.5 - 19,99 = 16.51
16.51 / 19.99 = 0.826 = 82.6% increase in price on steam vs website price
Please tell me where I did wrong with my math?
Btw, this is Euro currency, not usd.

Well, because I find it enjoyable and want to help making it worth spending money on? :P
Though, I'l prolly end up waiting till after the changes, which hopefully comes soon :P
The discount percentages (10%, 20%, etc.) printed in the game for Steam represent the % discount for buying in bulk. For example, in the 20 crown package, each crown costs about 0.073 EUR, and in the 2000 crown package, each crown costs about 0.036 EUR, which is a 50% discount. These are not temporary sale price discounts. These are permanent bulk discounts.
For the non-Steam crown prices, shown in the right half of your screenshot, we are not displaying the discount percentage, but the discount percentages are still there.
So, in your example comparing 500 Crown packages, you should compare apples & apples, which would be the price, after the bulk discount, for each package. These are:
Steam: 500 Crowns for 25.55 EUR
Non-Steam: 500 Crowns for 19.99 EUR
25.55 - 19.99 = 5.56
5.56 / 19.99 = .27 = 27% increase
However, 27% is too high! It should be 0%. We are creating a system now so that all the prices for every different platform: our website, Steam, affiliates, etc. will all pull the data from the same central server. We are working on this right now! Within a week, I think they'll all be the same.
Thanks for pointing this out.
Best, Damon
Btw, this is the usual price for crowns, right? (19.99 eur)
I've heard its discounts on crowns here quite often, so maybe I'l buy next time that happens then :) (Blame Ryuh of Crazy Devils for spilling :P)
This is a bug, report it to trendy at the tavern keeper! :)
