How do I use teleport pads?

I've walked over several however can't figure out how to actually use them. Thanks for any help.

Telepads are used for quick travel between maps. Once you have discovered a telepad, you can travel to that pad from another zone using the world map or travel back to the telepad from elsewhere within the zone using the zone map.
