You should save your equipment when you get reborn. As a reborn you get a boost that helps you to faster get back to the lvl you were when you choose to be reborn, so you'll soon need that good equipment again.
If you plan to be reborn several times it's always good to save a set of equipment for ever 5-10 lvl you gain. The intervall should be closer together the higher the lvl. However, this will require you to have a lot of vault space, which can be a pain.
