that youtube video about pvp is a no contact pvp or in short a lie, it's not the pvp we all know it where players combats 1 another, it's like sjw redefining gender
or not this game will be die.them great community will be die too. player so few because no pvp. open pvp many player will be come.
Games lose more players to PVP. a MOAB or Fortnight would be the best bet if you want PVP. Currently this is a game not directed for PVP but PVE. people play it to relax after a bad or hard day. not login and have some ♥♥♥♥ ruin it because he wants to kill them while they are gathering iron.
So yeah 10 Prime PVPers that run everyone off. out of 100s or even 1000s of new players looking for another game.
I seen it happen time in again. look at most of the steam games. PVP Vs PVE servers. More play PVE all the time if it has an option.
PVPers in games like this dont want a challage. they just want to ruin others days that are not even remotly prepard for PVP. they cant handle MOAB games because they are just pu$$ys.
Oh, the irony of a PvP fan that wants to fight in-game but takes offence at being debated with on a forum.
Villagers and Heroes is a cooperative, PvE game. The internet is rife with games that feature PvP, to include many MOBA games that are devoid of any traditional MMORPG aspects EXCEPT for PvP. No one seems to have a problem with a game that is pure PvP, so why is it that with such a variety of PvP games already on the market that a rare PvE game is seen as incomplete? I get the fact that many people desire this style of play. Well, good news! There is no shortage of PvP games for you to choose from. If, on the other hand, you are looking for a more casual game with a helpful, friendly, non-competitive community, you will have a long search on your hands and not much to choose from. V&H fills that niche and fills it quite well. I happen to play a variety of games, many of which have a PvP aspect. When I wish to get away from those hard-core games and play something more relaxing, V&H fills that need.
First, I do not recall seeing anyone being maligned in V&H for any reason. In fact, the opposite of that is usually the case. PvP advocates will come in-game and/or on the forum in full attack mode and malign the game and its player base for not having PvP. Even a good community will react when attacked. These gamers will then go on to claim THEY were maligned. I can only assume that they define "maligned" as being disagreed with. On a more positive note, we often get PvP fans that come on and suggest modes of PvP that might mesh with the current game and suggest ways in which those modes might be implemented. When approached in this manner, a meaningful fiscussion often takes place.
Second, as a matter of fact, V&H does happen to have a good community. It is by far one of the best communities I have ever played with. We can debate whether or not the lack of traditional PvP plays a major part in that but one thing is quite certain. Unrestrained PvP ganking and a lack of in-game moderation has ruined more than one otherwise great game. Terra anyone? If anything, the tone in the quoted response supports the notion of those that feel PvP would make the community more toxic. If this is an example of the attitude the average PvP player would bring into the game it could not help but have a negative effect. You will never convinve PvE players that PvP will not introduce toxicity into their game by making a toxic post.
Third, "that youtube video about pvp" was tongue-in-cheek and was by no means presented as a viable form of PvP. It's called humor. Try it sometime.
Honestly, I doubt V&H will ever have a traditional, open-world, form of PvP, but that's not to say some other form of PvP is out of the question. The game continues to get active development and what is in store for its future is very much an open book. It would not surprise me to see some form of competitive play in its future. If and when that day comes, it will be a form of PvP that meshes with the current game and its community.
I could make the opposite case.
Villagers and Heroes started as a humble little browser-based Facebook game. Since then, despite your dire predictions, It went to PC and then grew to be a cross-platform game available on PC, Android, and IOS. It has more than tripled its original level cap. Expanded upon its storyline and lore. Greatly increased its playable area. Added to it's total number of servers. It has introduced several expansions and has another due out near the end of September 2018. While all of that was going on, it managed to increase its player base.
All of this was done without any form of PvP, whatsoever, and the game is still under active development with more expansions in its future. On the other side, I can name quite a few games, very good games, that were ruined by unrestrained PvP ganking, poor moderation, and a toxic community. I reject the notion that any game without PvP is somehow incomplete. In a world so full of variety that even chocolate beer has a place on the supermarket shelf, it is simply preposterous to suggest that one style and only one style of game has a possibility of survival. The steady growth of this game is a case in point. I'm not sure what the case for chocolate beer is. Perhaps enough people want it that there is room in the market for its survival. Perhaps the same can be said for a cooperative PvE game as well.
This game is not your typical cookie cutter mmo.
Rather than offer any argument for or against pvp, I'll reference an actual developer's words concerning pvp in this game.
