Tokyo Xtreme Racer
realistic engine sound/rev limiter
Hi everyone,

I've been playing Tokyo Xtreme Racer, and while the game is an absolute blast, I'm missing the authentic sound of a petrol engine hitting the rev limiter. Normally, you’d hear a distinct "net-net-net-net" sound, but in the game, the engine just hums. Since I prefer manual shifting, I've found myself forgetting to shift because I'm so focused on the track and waiting for the familiar rev limiter sound.

This lack of realistic engine sound takes away from the overall immersion and makes manual shifting a bit challenging. I hope the developers consider adding a more authentic engine sound in future updates to enhance the gaming experience.

Thanks for reading!

the engine sounds need a lot of work. idk how this game is getting a total pass on the poor sounds honestly.
they can easily add it because I tried doing it manually and the sounds are there to an extent but it's possible.

I picked up on this in my review; there are only a few cars in the game where the engine/ exhaust sounds can be relied on for manual shifting.

There's also a strange disconnect in pitch between the sounds of the car when looking forward or looking behind with the chase cam.

Even the Subaru that I spent 4.6m on had a lacklustre engine sound, which was quite disappointing, given that I really love the UEL exhaust manifold sound in real life.
