Cinderella Past Midnight: Game Progression is aburdly abymsal
SO for a good handful of the Bosses I beat up to Cinderella, my car wasn't even fast enough to beat them outright, I had to rely on their AI messing up so they'd crash (or turn a corner and slow down completely as if they'd given up).
And yes I purchased and applied all the upgrades to my Vehicle available to me, and it's impossible to beat her in a fair 1v1 solely off of speed alone.

This is my gripe with the game, so in order to beat half the bosses in the game fairly... YOU HAVE TO BEAT THE LAST BOSS in order to get the upgrades necessary to progress as the game intends.. this system is R*******

So I can't buy any faster cars to beat her (because in order to buy better cars you have to beat Cinderella), I can't upgrade my car completely because they're only unlocked by beating her.

Is this a skill issue or are the Devs completely short sighted and/or incompetent?

oh, and while I'm at it... I love the fact that 98.6% of the opponent vehicles in this Game feel like they have a geriatric grandmother behind the wheel and then out of nowhere the difficulty spikes a thousandfold and the driver speeds past you like it's nothing...

100% Skill issue. This game is meant to be hard/challenging on certain rivals/wanderers/bosses. Practice tuning gear ratios, using diff cars. S14, RX8, BRZ etc etc.

Ah I see, I just found it weird/frustrating because every single car up to that point was wayyyy too easy, and then once I raced the final bosses it was like getting kneecapped and hitting a brick wall. I was using the BRZ and even then, it was hell.

So basically my point is that I understand they want it to be difficult, but in a game where the only important metric to winning is Speed, I don't get why they couldn't have granted access to some cars that actually allow you to compete instead of relying on basically luck alone.

And if the Devs are reading this they need to fix the difficulty on regular opponents, it was so easy that it's mind numbingly BORING, I had to listen to youtube videos and podcasts while playing. there's no sense of being on edge, it's basically guaranteed that 90+ percent of oppenents you come across are too easy.

Perhaps I'm not the biggest racing genre fan ever however I'm adamant that Midnight Club LA is one the greatest arcade racers of all time, I came into this slightly expecting a similar experience... but whatever I'm just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ at this point and the game is in Early Access
I've beat every boss with my tuned MX5 Nb, it was really hard but with some tuning and good driving it was fun and doable. Also, the spot where you challenge them matters a lot imo, i always tried to challenge them in a place where there were the most corners so i could thrive
In TXR0 getting toward the end there were some cars I just could not beat at all on the long straights, so I would race them a few times to get them in a part of town with more turns and take them that way. I haven't gotten this far yet but if it's not a fixed starting point just try getting the boss to a different part of town and racing there.
You didn't need to write a wall of text to tell us you've never played this series of games before. Your complaints are the core of the game. Its how these games were 18+ years ago and we love it.
Txrz was crazy hard.

be thankful you dont have to race the 13 devils and the zodiac. not to mention devilZ

this game is more true to import tuner with its toned down difficulty and low car list. in txrz you had porsche and dodge vipers dominating the highway, you had to be capable of 400kmh just get a decent lead!!
Wait, (spoiler alert) by the time we beat her, aren't we only 50% through the game?

Yes.
This boss treatment is normal and true to the series, welcome to the dungeon
It's not entirely skill issue in my opinion. It's design by choice. I have a save where I started new game with the R32 GTR and it's no different than playing a normal game. It only made it slightly easier but with all available upgrades the bosses still required strategy to defeat. Just how the game is. Developers want you to feel defeat.
