Not as good as txrz and blown away by import tuner challenge.
yes you read that right.. i bought an xbox 360 and putting import tuner on my oled gaming panel made it graphically as good as this.

this game needs mass improvement for optimisation and graphics.. i played this series starting from tokyo highway challenge on dreamcast over 25 years ago and im a huge dedicated fan of this title so let me address what needs to change.

we are in 2025 so in order for this game to really kick off and be immersive we need a cockpit view like import tuner but head tracking so we can look around.. dont say it cant be done because someone has already modded vr into this.

need to scrap the perk system and the stupid unlock parts scheme.. never had it before and we dont need it now otherwise people will get bored very quickly.

engine sounds need to me more intense like forza big turbo chatter and wastegates.

better aero tuning.. this game gone has backwards in terms of customisation, but i wanna see it one step further.. such as when you pick a certain exhaust it gives you different sound, stainless titanium and even bonnet exhaust straight off manifold, be nice to see flames spit from hood, no hesi has it so why cant you. i cant understand why customisation is worse than txrz

window stickers
exhaust
headlights
interior tuning like import tuner
customise engine and exhaust sounds
more whhels
more cars
more track
headtracking
interior positioning

the dreadful dialogue this game has inherited from import tuner needs sacking off and the carparks need more in them like import tuner did.

wheel support needs attention, force feedback is off and no clutch support is takin the mickey.

track is smaller than import tuner...in terms of choice and diversity.. we need more because ive done a million miles around the c1 loop and it gets boring in txrz i always thought one day they will make this game again and all these off ramps that are blocked will open up... they havent.. i understand this game is true to original.. but come on???

needs optimisation and fast no way these basic graphics are making my rtx3080 work overtime.. i running ets2 and ats on 4k 400% scaling on ultra setting with mods 80% gpu usage and 20% cpu usage (12400f) 70 temp.. yet cruising on the c1 is 99% gpu usage 40% cpu on high settings not ultra 60fps with scaling turned down .. something aint right here.

i read the wheel can affect performance?? unplugging the wheel before starting game and re plugging when booted up fixes ffb.. why?

lots of work to be done here but excited for the future.. dont let us down GENKI.

just hope modders answer the call soon!!!

I mean yeah, but it's just not the most convenient thing to paint with the controller. Still cool though.
By that measure the way they implemented the vinyl system is also not that great, I haven't seen a game do that system better than nfs world 15 years ago
I also enjoy the hell out of the dreamcast version, The sega saturn version was also decent. however the game is still in development, I don't understand people who complain about a game that clearly states early access

Anyway, I'm playing TXR Zero now, and I'm completely blown away. It's very arcade, the roads seem wider than real life, but the races are very intense, you always have this back and forth with your opponents. Even if you've fallen far behind, you still can try and catch up if you're good at avoiding traffic. Other TXR games (3 and Drift 2) didn't give me the same level of challenge with AI opponents.

Unfortunately, you need to find a patched version of TXR3 to fix the issue they had with the currency. Made the final car impossible to buy because the currency system didn't go that high
Tokyo xrteme racer zero is basically just a port of TXR2 tot he ps2, Dreamcast had TXR and TXR2 all 3 awesome games hope this one reaches that same level soon

Ah, I think I've heard about this. Basically they divided all the prices by 100 in the US version, so that the currency is more similar to USD instead of yen, and this broke some things in the progression. I think if you're playing on PC it's very easy to get the patch though.

Still, TXR3 is special to me. Lots of customization, weather system, 3 cities, and most importantly the handling. Initially it feels like every car is on ice, but once you get used to it (and turned downforce to 10(AND are using analog throttle/brake)) it feels really good to nail those C1 corners. For me it's an almost perfect example of enjoyable yet somewhat realistic and challenging handling.

Just to remind You, when You are in main menu, there is a small numbers at the left lower corner of the screen. Currently these numbers are 0.1.2 which means its an alpha, not full game.

you dont say.... from what ive seen so far i dont have high hopes. love txr always have hence my post about what i think this game needs going forward!!!

blown away by what exactly.....?

the fact most comments have misunderstood my post by saying.... iTS aN eArlY aCCesS gaMe... err well no ♥♥♥♥ !!!

lmfao.

i admire the true origin of the game but its 2025 times move on and aslong as the game stays true at core with more immersion i think this will be unbeatable but from what ive seen so far i have my doubts..hopefully genki does us proud been waiting for a decent release for 20 + years!!!

good enough for ya buttercup?

The track is literally the same size as Zero. Import Tuner is still way smaller.

import tuner had more variety in off ramps etc.. if you read my post im clearly saying the track needs to be extended in other areas and not stick with the original layout as txrz, import tuner was a little bit more interesting by avoiding the long run on the highway.

if they did that.
That would open the door for lawsuits.
Did you know both games are made by different companies.

While I hate to do any siding with the OP cause he's a jerk, what are you talking about? Tokyo Highway Challenge is TXR1 and it along with TXRZ, TXR 2025 and ITC are all developed by Genki. Forza also doesn't have a monopoly on engine sounds...

Overall OP is a clown but yeah, what?

You specifically said yourself "track is smaller" not "less offramps". There are no other way to interpret this statement other than 'the amount of drivable road is lesser'.

Do a loop of both itc and txr and see which takes longer... either way itc track is better and considering this game is literally more itc than txr i have no doubt it will be added in the future.

please explain why im a jerk and clown for giving an opinion for what i think would make this game even more amazing than what it is...

big fan of txr and itc i literally lived and breathed this game growing up and i want nothing more than see its future successful.. i was grinding this franchise 26 years ago and always knew it would return but had hoped it would be a step up from what weve already had. also i want younger generations to love this game and be pulled away from nfs and forza but i feel only older fans will appreciate it which is a shame.

my review and opinions are open to debate but to be personally insulted for honest criticism and feedback based on my own views is disappointing!

like i previously stated if genki dont do the work hopefuly modders will answer the call or we will see this game gather dust on a dark shelf. AGAIN!!

you are absolutely right, unfortunately txr3 was like gold dust here in the uk so never had the pleasure, closest i had was import tuner which i understand was the same-ish.

Txr zero is the GOAT !!

FOR ME anyway... dont wanna get insulted by being a jerk again. lol

I miss TXR3 customization options, in special Aero have Weight factor, dont mention Engine Swap
