Whats up with nitro???
It does nothing for speed as far as i can tell if you use it at any time when racing to pull ahead the opponents car just moves up with the silly screen effect.

(I thought the same at first) An in-game character does mention that its most useful during acceleration. For some races its your only chance of keeping up at the start of a race. But its not necessarily something to wholly rely on. More of a supplement. Some opponents do make it see useless, but they're just super fast compared to your car.

I use it to red line on top gear.

Well, if you're trying to challenge higher level racers whos cars are well over yours in speed/power and have no chance otherwise... yeh?

It definitely helps to pass some racers. Even some later racers. Often comes down to timing of how you use it.
I use the nitro on the start and when exiting corners. If its a long straight then ill use the whole thing. just my tactic

Well, it makes sense: nitro in real life won't give you a higher speed, it'll only help you get there faster. No amount of power can get you over the maximum speed allowed by your gearing.

quick bursts of acceleration. i use it to red line 4th mostly.
Watch you revs. Initiate nitro when your revs are low and watch them climb real quick, then shut it off and shift. If you use it right, it is very effective. This isn't the Fast and the Furious movie. It doesn't give you a sudden burst of 50 mph speed, lol.

Yep. For a particular wanderer battle I found both top speed and acceleration lacking, so I geared the car higher than I normally would and relied on nitro to get through those gears quickly.
It's a lvl 1 nitrous so its going to be weak. Previous games that had nitrous had multiple levels of it so I'm guessing the full release will have higher and more powerful levels of nitrous
