better than NFSU 1/2. similar but way better. customization is better, driving dynamics are better and more realistic. and the game concept of racing at midnight hunting for bosses is A+

Wangan Midnight?

None, it's it's own thing, and one we didn't expect to have such a faithful follow-up.

Think of it as "the last RPG Battle Racing hold-out".

The same way Mountain Drift Racing games had their basis with Initial D, this game's basis is Wangan Midnight by the same publisher.

Basically it's illegal Tokyo Highway Racing where two opponents compete for who can outrun who first.

It's not for everyone. But it is worth trying at least once.

Honestly its good to go as it is right now, no bugs no glitches and great optimization (and im running an intel arc A770 GPU which is known for being buggy). I just pulled a 6 hour marathon and there's still a ton to do. highly recommend

what racing game franchise is this game comparable to?

To be blunt and honest, none

TXR has always been their own franchise, with the closest actual comparison being the Wangan Midnight games

Do you know what is ironic about Wangan Midnight games? Both PS2 AND PS3 versions are made by Genki, the same company that founded the TXR series lol

If we go by that logic, Genki has monopoly the whole highway racing lol
