Can’t use my XBox controller during the race?
Looking for help. The game recognizes my XBox controller and allows me to modify the buttons but when I use it to select options or race, the game doesn’t respond. Has anyone experienced this?

I use a dual sense via Bluetooth and steam converts it to an Xbox controller and I have no problem. Maybe click on the steam controller icon and make sure it's on?

The controller is on. I tried my Xbox controller and Dual Sense. When I am in the options (Device Selection), the game will show me pressing the accelerator or brake. When I am in the race, nothing happens.

Go option and config the input device first.

Basic PC game first run SOP.

I seem to have solved my issue. The steam deck layout was competing with the controller layout. I ended up removing one of the game controller layout options.

Which one did you remove? I only have one layout for each but it never accepts my controller as the default layout.

i am getting a similar issue, i have 5 devices on my machine with device 5 being the controller. the game and menu refuse to respond to the controller inputs even though they seem mapped properly. Hoping there is some better way to 'select' the device you want the game to use patched in here soon. Game is unplayable for me right now.

I am new to Steam deck but I ended up removing the Xbox controller layout from the controller layout screen within the menus. Then I paired the Xbox controller again and then it started to work as intended. I hope this makes sense.
