Tokyo Xtreme Racer
Car is slighting turning in opposite direction after turning
I'm taking a turn, full throttle, and as I make my turn my car turns a little bit back in the direction I was turning from. It's only a small bit but my car isn't maintaining the direction of travel I finish my turn in.

I'm using the starter vehicle Sprinter Trueno and have upgraded everything to level 1 but haven't touched the settings too much (just lowered ride height and adjusted transmission).

Stiffen your suspension. The cars handle like boats until you tighten things up.

Play with the Stabilizer, my preference is harder in the front and normal for the rear ;)
One thing I like about this game is to play with the configuration: LSD, Suspension. Stabilizer, Transmission, Torque Balance :) okay the newer racing game have all this but in the early 2000 that was rare :D
I believe you might be able to tune this out a little bit with LSD tuning, however what you're describing can be used to your advantage if you utilise it right. ( I beat the stage 2 Boss with the Sprinter using what you are describing for high speed turns)
There's a setting in the options menu called 'Steering Angle Correction', it's on by default so you can turn it off and it might help.

Just in case: Check your controller for stick drift lol. You can see your analog sticks in the Steam controller interface. One of my controllers were doing that, damn Xbox controllers not using hall sensor.
"handling return" setting for the gamepad. play with it. the greater the value, the less it will fight back to correct to center.
