MARVEL vs. CAPCOM Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics

No console exclusive content?
So, this is just a collection of arcade ROMs with online, training mode and various settings but without console exclusive content, isn't it? Quite convenient of them to do just that.

Considering the price, it's quite shameful. They could make the definitive editions of all these games that were released on Saturn and Dreamcast at least if not combining all the content across all the platforms. I really wanted to put my Saturn and Dreamcast away and just stick with PC versions, but looks like that won't happen, ever.

You're the only one asking for that.

Arcade versions are fine. They used the crappy Sega Saturn update for XmenVs Street fighter and it's boring to play.

I wouldn't ask for that if the price was $30 top, I guess, but I doubt I'm the only one.

What's worse, they ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up online as well, so why would you even bother paying the current price for the games that focuses on online play and fail to deliver that? When there is a competition, by the way.

There is exclusive DLC for Consoles that you can purchase that will make your mamma one of the fighters! If you purchase this DLC then you will be able to fight as your mamma or you can fight against your mamma!
It would be nice to have the console features, but that would probably be too much work for a small company like capcom...

They would actually have to make real ports of the games instead of just packing the arcade roms into an emulator package. This way, they make the most money with the least amount of effort and resources.

It's an irritating position to be in isn't it? Being aware that there are console versions with more content but this being the only official way to acquire these games in the modern day, specially for someone like me who never owned the originals.

It's an even bigger shame that the second collection will more than likely suffer the same fate, specially in the case of CVS2, which had a whole lot of content.

You do realize that to the community that's been asking for this for decades that these ARE in fact the definitive versions right?

I'd say it's not about getting these games officially, you may as well buy disk for each game for Saturn and Dreamcast (and both platforms are cheap to get as well), heck, it would be worth it just for being physical disks alone, it's used but you still can touch them and play them anytime you want using old consoles. Rather, it's about getting these games on modern platforms, especially on PC, but emulation isn't really a big deal IMO, you could even buy the disks and even emulate these games on your PC if needed, for example, if you don't want to bother with older consoles, but personally I really hoped for proper ports of these games. Now it's never going to happen, unfortunately.

Well, we'll see if it these versions are, because I highly doubt that, especially looking back at previous fighting games collections. At least they didn't censor them, but still, they could provide something more for the asking price. I mean, this collection doesn't make console versions inferior and there is also fightcade if online play is the only thing you care about, so, the main purpose of this collection is that you can get arcade ROMs officially, but that's pretty much it.
