Do you have an exemple? Genuinely asking.
You entered the realm of the FGC, and not just the FGC but MvC2 a game that is beloved by its veteran players and no mercy is given. We been playing this for 20 years and want to play it to the fullest of our abilities at the top skill mountain as much as possible.
It is your own responsibility to get better at it like we all had to.
if you dive on a top tier team they respond in kind, but if you pick something that's not meta, most of the time they'll go to some weird character combos too. yeah they'll still whoop you with that team, but you at least won't be up against MSP try-harding every game.
It's gate keeping in the best way. You improve and take your loss well, you get help. That's the way it was and the way it always will be in these old games. You whine like a little baby on the steam forums and you get made fun of for it.
As such, the community naturally weeds out toddlers. People who play MvC2 love to bust each others balls and have a good time. But outside the game everyone is genuinely pretty nice and helpful.
We get it modern games have removed taunting, chat, voice chat, and really any other avenue for griefing left. Then you come to MvC2, a game that's built on bugs and playing lame, you're going to get your ass beat. It's up to you to get better and not be a crybaby about it. Tons of resources and people willing to help you out there. This game is complicated and it doesn't hold your hand. You have to actually learn it.
So you have a choice you can either fix your attitude or leave. No one cares about you specifically. You aren't special. People have been playing this game for 20+ years without you and will continue to do so.
