VS CPU modes is better cause you can choose what characters you play against and what difficulty they are instead of it scaling based on performance
i know you can rig something similar in training mode but it's not the same at all.

good to know the difficulty is normalized, but it's still not what i'm looking for.
Some people are so incredibly sensitive and can't deal with losses so they just play vs. easy CPU all the time.
They would need access to the source code to program AI for a dedicated vs CPU mode. The AI in the Arcade mode is likely custom logic specific for that mode and would break in a 1v1 CPU mode. The training mode is comparatively much easier to implement.
AKA a lot more work (even if its possible to do) and you guys are already complaining about the $50 price tag
