The game is on PC. It should have appropriate KB controls just like every other fighting game out on PC. It's only common sense.
A hitbox isn't designed like a keyboard nor does it have the same layout, but that's a good try.
It depends on your layout on the KB.
If you use ASD for movement, Right arrow for Up (resting right thumb), and the numpad for all of your attacking buttons, it feels a hell of a lot like a hitbox with the added bonus of having access to 3 additional buttons, namely 7, 8, and 9 which are reserved for buttons like 3xP 3xK or anything else you want. This setup also frees your left thumb for space bar. If you are using a charge character using W is optimal for jumping since it forces you into neutral since down is S, this frees your right thumb on the right arrow key for something else. Your fingers aren't so spread out in this setup and its quite comfortable.
Keyboards have the flexibility of using whatever switches you like. Mechanical reds or silvers or analog keys feel great. If you have analog keys, you can set the depth at which they are activated and make it so that as soon as the key moves up, the key is reset. This enables mashing but its still no where near palming a stick.
Google Leshar's arcade stick if you haven't seen it.
Long story short, for a PC game it makes no sense to have a separate control menu options for keyboard and pad. Both should have the same options. How would you feel if you had a hitbox and you could only assign 6 of your 8 right hand buttons?
I really wanted to play marvel games through Capcom's software. After doing some research, apparently I might be able to use Steam Input to get macros but if I can't figure it out I'm going to research other possible methods and consider a refund.
