It's possible for Capcom to patch it in officially. But it's extremely expensive, so I doubt they will since they aren't being given a budget by Marvel.

Sure. But "can" and "will" are two different things.

I have full faith in Capcom's ability to create such a patch. Their SF studio is filled with technical talent and is putting out some of the best netcode in fighting games right now. But while I have faith in their ability, I do not have faith in their intention; no developer would do any kind of patch work without a budget to support it, Capcom or otherwise.

I think the only way to enable cross play is to have a central server. which would cost money for them for nothing so i guess they wont do it.
