MARVEL vs. CAPCOM Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics

Update Incoming
Just a heads-up that based on updates to the debug branch made since November 8th, a public update is most likely coming to coincide with the PS4/Switch physical release tomorrow.
My hopes are for a fix for the sound issues, no idea what would be included otherwise.
Edit: Did not release today as predicted but is still happening.

If the update removes Enigma, I'll buy it on Steam too. I bought it on Switch to emulate it, I'm just waiting for my hard copy to come in the mail. I don't know why Capcom feels the need to shove DRM into games that are decades old, it just drives away people who care about whether games have annoying DRM or not.

Cross play would be nice, never gonna happen though

No update today, surprisingly.
Hopefully next week? Hard to say until the new master and debug builds are submitted.
But it is definitely coming.
The latest it could possibly release imo is to coincide with the release on Xbox next year, but I would be shocked if it took that long.

This is my #1 request but I agree, though they DO have the infrastructure for it if they really wanted to do it, it would just be a significant amount of work to implement.
Our best hope is that they are planning to do it for the second Capcom Fighting Collection anyway and that works ends up being applicable to MvC but I've seen nothing hinting at that.

Plot-twist: The original Capcom Fighting Collection is getting its first real update since September 2022 according to a flurry of debug activity since Halloween. It got a small patch in July 2023 to remove the word retarded (that's literally it).
This may just be a DRM thing based on recent updates to Capcom Stadiums 1 & 2 but we'll see, could also hint at crossplay coming to that title as well.

Hopefully a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fix to add macro buttons to KB users. Not having access to PPP, KKK etc. on KB on a PC game meanwhile every other control scheme gets these is foolish and not fair.

I'm hoping this update removes the heavy CPU usage. Games are decades old and they no right in going too damn high.

Stop playing on a potato?

Not everyone can easily afford a high-end PC to play a collection of CPS-2 and Naomi games.

You don't need a high end pc.

Just not a potato.

That's not the issue. The issue is software related. These games can be played on a toaster. The CPU usage problem is due to how the front-end was developed. Please refrain from making smug comments to people when you don't know what you're talking about.

Considering I've got a five year old non gaming cpu and am having no framerate issues related to cpu usage?

Maybe don't make terrible excuses.

I Googled "capcom fighting collection high cpu usage" and found this thread about editing the config.ini file:

Other PC's that can run Flycast for MvC2 and other Naomi games well can still have trouble with running the Capcom Fighting Collections.

Yooo you're awesome this works way better now.

But yea I noticed the same case. It runs better with the dreamcast emulator than there lol

And it all took was one piece of coding.
