Apparently the true reason why it's not coming to Xbox has to do with the MT Framework that the game and other game collections from Capcom use. Both the Series X/S and the PS5 do not support that framework which is why the game is skipping Xbox consoles altogether and why it's not coming to PS5 natively.

But its weird because I am sure its gonna work on PS5, just like CFC.


Clearly I don't know how this thing works, but can't XSX play XONE games? Couldn't they make that version physical?

Honestly I'm not sure. Both the Series X/S and PS5 do have backwards compatibility support for older consoles now that I've looked into it, must be something more going on with the Xbox

you theory almost makes sense, except the previous fighting game collection, the one with darksiders, was released on the xbox one, couldnt they release this collection for the xbox one too so people playing on series X could play the game via backwards compatibility?

We don't exactly know the sales numbers for Xbox versions of games, do we? Could also be they're putting it on the most profitable platforms first and then they'll do an Xbox version later? I literally have no idea.

While I don't fully subscribe to the unsupported engine theory, the deciding factor for making a Xbox version cannot be sales considering AA: Investigations will be there and we know for a fact the previous AA collections bombed hard. And even if you could argue that AAI is there via GP deal, I'd like to think that if MS had to choose between making a deal for AAI or for MvC, they'd go for Marvel.
