If you're waiting on people to migrate from you know where, I wouldn't get your hopes up. If the port is anything but a flawless copy of whatever they already play, they kinda get a little snobbish and start going "what was the point of this collection, just play it over here", forgetting how much of a...focused...community they are compared to the rest of the playerbase. A lot of people want to own a legal copy (hence why the arcade1up cab that cost several hundred dollars still sold out in no time flat), which is a foreign concept to those other people.

As far as why it doesn't have crossplay, I think their collections up until now historically haven't had and they're still slowly getting used to the concept. Plus, their crossplay games require Capcom ID, so it could be a technical reason behind the scenes as oppose to just being fickle.

The version of MvC2 that can be played at "you know where" has input lag because of the emulator they use. Apparently this version has much less lag according to people who've had a chance to play it at Evo this year. As far as the balancing and glitches are concerned, it's apparently a perfect port of the arcade game (aside from the missing Juggernaut glitch). So this version looks to be the ideal way to play MvC2 at least.

It's only a bummer for console players. The vast majority of the online community will be PC, where there's stronger hardware, more stable online connections, and a huge variety of controller input options.

I don't think most of you realize how complicated crossplay for a game like this really is. Not to mention it involves the willing participation of the three console manufacturers and we already know Sony hates crossplay.

Best bet is playstation ngl, thats where a majority of fighters are on unless they get with the times and add cross play. I would buy both because I want a physical MvC2 to give the finger to the douchebags selling it for 300$
