Rugrats: Adventures in Gameland (Demo) - Bugs

Haven't seen this posted anywhere yet.... I have noticed two pretty major bugs with the Steam demo. Not too big of a deal, as they can easily be fixed for the full game release. Kind of a bummer, though, because the first bug has very much affected my first taste of the game. It makes the demo pretty much half-playable. The second bug makes the game completely unplayable, though it is easily avoidable, if you just do not press the start button.

Here are the bugs:
1. Inability to play single player. I only have one controller hooked up and the keyboard is not recognized as an input, so I'm not sure why it is forcing a second character selection, unless it is simply a bug. I did hit select and deselect a bunch of times and got it to glitch once where it is started with one character. However, after loading into the first level, the game brought in a second player as soon as I pressed the jump button for the first time.
2. If you press the start button, the menu is impossible to get off of the screen, no matter what other button you press.

Only one XBOX 360 controller and can't play solo because when I push A button the player two is selected.

We've just pushed a fix for this bug.

It seems that if a controller was not connected when the game launched, connecting a controller would result in controlling both players. This is now resolved.

It's still unplayable. I'm playing the recently released version (epikgames) and it still has this problem with the controls. You can only control two characters, it's impossible to play in single player mode. Is there a solution?
