How come you cannot offer players for players? Also how do you see who the Sim is shopping?

Figured out how to see what another team wants for one of their players or picks, but as far as I can see no player for player offers, or even creating offers with a player and pick, or multiple players. Hopefully they will update that.

trading seems awkward. i do not see a way to counter their offers .

This right here. It is a bit frustrating that the AI does not ever consider giving up players as part of a trade when you shop one of your players. Not even the bottom feeder players. That is a problem.
