Changing Team Names?
Is there no way to change the team names really simply like there was in FOFB 8? Like being able to change the name of the "Detroit MoCats" to the "Detroit Lions"?

Looks like the best place to do this is in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Front Office Football Nine\default_data

I'd read overview.txt in that folder first, but it looks like team_info.csv is the main place to do this.

so jim made it 30x harder to change team names in the new game when it was easy and simple in the last one. Thats awesome.

Since I'm not using a player file, I had to edit the default_teams file. works. :)
(just leave the "use default team assignments" box checked)
If you want to change the conf names to AFC/NFC, also edit this file: league_info

And THANKS to the dev for making this stuff editable in files. I used to go thru all 32 teams each play thru and edit the team names in the UI. I prefer it this way :)

Nice. Now any idea on those logos?

I'm trying to figure out changing the logos. According to the instructions, there are several ways to do this.

Any one managed to edit the team info file to make it work? I'm doing something wrong when editing the file, because i cant create a new game if edit it.

Change default_teams.csv for all league formats, or at least the one you will be playing. Go to team_info.csv and change them there. If you change all the formats of league size it is a one time fix. Start a new universe and it will be there.

So you need to change both? Thats why its not working for me?
Gallifrey Nov 1, 2023 @ 6:52pm
I changed both, and make sure you save as csv for it to work.

Team info was enough. My problem was saving the file. Once i used an online csv editor, it worked fine

Why make it so hard when it was so easy in FOF8? Really disappointing. Guess I'm playing as the LA Lightning. Don't have time to edit a csv, it should be accessible in game. Don't see the reasoning behind this change.

It doesn’t have that? :0

Go to the forum link that oldbone shared. Once there, you can download the team csv file and watch a video on how to update the game so the teams are changed for good.

Took me about ten minutes to do last night. And now I don't have to worry about doing it ever again.

it was super easy. I updated the excel spreadsheet for the 2023 year and it worked without issues. I did restart my new league to get the names once I changed them. I had only played 3 games before I changed the team names.
