BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger

BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger

I've tried everything. This game will not work.
I've spent days looking through this forum and trying everything I've seen. It seems that my problem is very rare. I've only seen one other post exactly like my problem, and their solution didn't work for me.

There is a slightly more common problem I've seen that's close to mine. In these posts, the screen flashes black then crashes. Mine just crashes. No flicker, no black screen with audio. I start the program, and it instantly says that it has stopped working, then says it again. When I click close the program on the pop-up, it comes up a second time. After clicking close on the second one, it closes. I'm not really sure what other information I can give, like I said, I've combed this forum for days and can't find a solution.

I'm running windows 8.

This gonna sound really stupid but did you try restarting windows by any chance?

Set compatibility mode with win7?
Download and install directX 9.0c?

Can you go to control panel >action center>problem's details>history and give us screenshot with all details? It might help find problem.

It's strange...
Every other game on Steam works just fine for me.
I have a modern Core i7 based system.
Maybe problem exist because I've installed the game in non-default folder...

This is a solution for at least windows 7, so idk if it will work for windows 8. I had the problem that I wouldnt even launch the game, but today I a came across this topic : https://steamcommunity.com/app/263300/discussions/0/540733523716296736/ which helped me at least. So credits to that topic.
solution: You have to put the BBCT.exe in the DEP (Data Execution Prevention) list. You will find this list by right click on 'computer' and then properties. Open advanced system settings. From there, press the settings button for 'performance'. You will find the DEP list in the third tab.
