The two wheel types
For the TYPE C-4320 you have a choice of default or the "Big Wheel".. Has anyone else really noticed an actual use for the Big Wheel that performs better than the default wheel? The Big Wheel seems to not do well in deep mud. I stopped using that wheel entirely and I never get stuck anymore.. Opinions?

Yeah I forgot about those because they seem useless. There are paved roads but 100% of anything you need to get to is down muddy dirt roads off those paved roads.

Maybe they will come in useful in future maps.. Love the game though..

i was able to exit a river crossing (loaded) with the big wheels when i was unable to with the default wheels - like it wasn't even a close comparison. for me, they seem to perform better.

I'm not sure but I think regular road wheel are better on asphalt because the wheels goes back straight when driving. The offroad wheel are all-rounder they work "okay" on any surface and big wheels are much better in water and deep mud... they do ok on dirt road but tend to be slower and are not too good on asphalt as the wheels wont center back up...

yah i just noticed the big balloon tires are much slower on the hard roads too

I think that we can all agree on

Ok.. Maybe it was my newess when I first started.. I decided to try the Big Wheels again starting a new map.. (I've completed Volcano and The River) I'm now on The Plains.. Ok.. This maps mud is something feirce. Where the fat off road tires shine is if you need to stop in mud to check the map. You get good grip starting from a stop. The normal off road tires.. If you stop in deep deep mud.. Prepare for winch deployment.

The physics in this game are well thought out and I have yet to see any flaws with it so one can asume the big wheels which have more surface area don't sink into mud as fast as the other wheels. While the narrower tires sink faster and have less grip.

The default wheels on the C-4320 seem to give better ground clearance. I'm not sure about the grip and sinking risk compared to the big wheels for I haven't exactly thested them. In the beginning I used big wheels but then I started using defaults because of ground clearance; haven't experienced any problems with them really.

I wasn't to sure about the height of the wheels anymore but if they are really larger they should give more ground clearance and make your vehicle move faster.
