1. Fold it up, go to a lumber mill, get into a position where you can drive forward when you unfold the trailer.
2. Unfold the trailer and when it gets "stuck," simply drive forward a bit until it snaps out essentially.
3. You should now be in a good position to load the trailer up without much issue.
Recording simple videos on how to do this shouldn't be hard actually in case videos are easier to understand.
Oh how I hate you plains map....
I went back later a flukes it first go. It should be as fussy imo. especially with the muddy uneven ground
Loading the long trailer is the easy part, keeping it from flipping you over when it's loaded can be more of a challenge ;)
Have you tried manually loading logs with the crane onto the medium or long trailer? Oh my god. Once I FINALLY got the logs in the "correct position" on the trailer itself, then I had to get the trailer into the "proper position" and the logs are moving around and falling out, stupid trailer won't straighten out. Unbelievable.
But I did have a hilarious and frustrating situation while doing this and I'm really sad I don't have it recorded. One of the small logs got lodged inbetween the two left side tires on the trailer. It was completely jammed in there and I couldn't move the trailer. Of course I could have just reset back to garage but I'm not going down that easily.
First, while I was still hitched too the trailer, I tried grabbing the log with the crane and pulling it out, jerking it around. That didn't work so I disconnected the trailer and continued to try, but now I was picking up the whole trailer by the stuck log and whipping it around, smashing into my truck and stuff, thinking "wtf am I doing wasting my time with this?" and damn if I didn't get the trailer in just the right spot. I had it stuck on the driver side of the truck and the log was laying across the back of the truck and I was able brace the trailer and yank the the log out. Felt SO good pulling that off. Then went a step further and had to use the crane to flip over and position the trailer behind me so I could hook up.
So mad I didn't get it on video.
Yes I tried this aswell and had exactly the same issue. straighten up the damn trailer after loading it... it was never well enough. I moved it and moved it until everythin fell down.
Theres ahell of alot of work to get the bugs/glitches and frustrating RNG type of happenings ironed out.
Well since you destroy some "roads" even more, when you drive over them you could deliver 6 logs first and the second time use the short logs on an even worse track. That would make a little sense. But when I haven't got an 8 wheeler on a map I don't use trailers at all anymore. The danger of rolling over is too high on some maps.
I had the same thought ... "who thought, it was a good idea to lumber wood here ? Didn't he think about how to transport it away from here ?" ... if it was reality, of course, someone really would have done a bad job. But ... it is a game, not everything about the leveldesign needs to be logic. There is always a balance to manage between realism, challange and therefore difficulty and playability.
Talk about being stuck between a rock and a hard place! *ba-dum-tish*
